Leading into new years eve we were pushing and pushing to get as much done as possible - and in fact i was pretty happy with how that Thursday went - we got the refrigerator unit knocked up and installed. still needs bogging, sanding and painting, but the bones are very good - and heavy - as i found out when i was volunteered to hold it in place overhead while it was screwed into the studs. lucky for me i have some practice with holding heavy shit overhead.
SO - new years eve normally for us is a total non event - indecisively debating whether we can even be bothered staying up?
This year we decided we would go hang with some friends and it was SO fun! even though - our little 3 guy decided he would jump off the top bunk and land on his arm - que trip to A&E - where the fates were WITH us - we went straight into x ray, walked straight in to see the doctor - he had a fracture in his wrist - had a very experienced RN plaster up his arm and we were back to the party within the hour! WHAT? yes!! you wouldn't read about it. best public health service EVER.

New years day was spent feeling a bit delicate (me not the kid) hangovers are NO fun. so it was a day off from the house. Saturday though we were BACK - and excited to finally finally start with the wainscotting! This was my big deal must have and what i wanted to do right from the first time we walked into the house - so to be here now is VERY cool. Seeing as it was raining, we set up the bench saw in the lounge and stripped down 3mm MDF and generally made a huge mess - but I'm so so happy with getting it up finally! because it took so long getting everything stripped down and ready we only have one wall done so far - but the feel of it is great and Reilly and i have a good flow going so the rest of the lounge/dining/kitchen is planned for tomorrow all going well!
Ive had a rejig of my calendar and I'm surprised and happy to say that things are going pretty good - I'm hoping that by the end of next weekend we will have these two rooms undercoated and ready for wallpaper/tiling! we have a step by step plan for the next 7 days and all going well its going to work out! on monday we are taking the kids to pick up the french doors we grabbed off trademe - also happens to be by the beach! YAH!! a lot of the holiday people might have gone home by then and The Mount may be a very nice place to be. the kids at least will have a break - they really have been very very good for us so far.
